My
Pen
Pal
-
A
Friend
Across
the
World
I
met
my
pen
pal,
KimchiGirll,
online
about
a
year
ago.
We
started
chatting
on
a
language
exchange
platform
where
I
was
looking
for
someone
who
could
teach
me
more
about
the
Korean
language
and
culture.
KimchiGirll
was
also
looking
for
someone
to
practice
English
with,
and
we
hit
it
off
right
away.
We
started
off
with
simple
conversations
about
our
daily
lives,
family,
and
hobbies,
slowly
building
our
friendship
over
time.
As
we
got
to
know
each
other
better,
we
shared
more
personal
stories
and
experiences,
discovering
that
we
had
a
lot
in
common
despite
living
in
different
parts
of
the
world.
KimchiGirll
told
me
about
her
love
for
Korean
food
(hence
the
name),
K-dramas,
and
the
latest
fashion
trends
in
Seoul.
She
also
introduced

to
some
popular
Korean
songs
and
artists,
which
I
now
enjoy
listening
to.
In
turn,
I
shared
stories
about
my
travels,
my
favorite
books
and
movies,
and
my
passion
for
photography.
Our
friendship
grew
stronger
as
we
exchanged
letters
and
small
gifts
through
snail
mail.
I
was
amazed
at
how
much
effort
KimchiGirll
put
into
decorating
her
envelopes
and
adding
little
trinkets
that
represented
her
culture.
It
made
me
appreciate
the
art
of
letter
writing
and
the
joys
of
receiving
something
physical
in
the
mail.
Apart
from
the
cultural
exchange,
our
friendship
also
became
a
source
of
support
during
tough
times.
KimchiGirll
was
there
to
cheer
me
up
whenever
I
had
a
bad
day,
and
I
did
the
same
for
her.
We
encouraged
each
other
to
pursue
our
dreams
and
shared
advice
on
how
to
overcome
challenges.
Although
we
have
never
met
in
person,
I
feel
like
KimchiGirll
has
become
a
dear
friend
that
I
can
rely
on
from
across
the
world.
Our
pen
pal
journey
has
taught
me
the
value
of
embracing
diversity
and
building
connections
beyond
borders,
and
I
hope
our
friendship
continues
to
flourish
for
years
to
come.
