My
Husband
and
I
Are
from
Different
Countries
and
We
Gave
Our
Son
a
Unique
Name
As
an
American
and
my
husband
being
from
France,
we
knew
early
on
that
we
wanted
our
son’s
name
to
reflect
both
of
our
cultures.
We
spent
hours
going
through
baby
naming
books
and
websites,
looking
for
something
that
wasn’t
too
common
or
strange-sounding
in
either
country.
We
also
wanted
a
name
that
was
easy
to
pronounce
in
both
English
and
French.
After
much
deliberation,
we
finally
settled
on
the
name
“Luca”.
It’s
short,
sweet,
and
easy
to
say
in
both
languages.
We
loved
the
Italian
origin
of
the
name,
as
it
signifies
light
and
hope.
Naming
our
child
was
a
thoughtful
and
exciting
experience,
and
we
loved
how
the
name
we
chose
was
a
representation
of
our
diverse
backgrounds
and
love
for
different
cultures.
It
has
also
been
an
interesting
conversation
starter
for
us,
as
people
are
often
curious
about
the
meaning
and
origin
of
his
name.
We
believe
that
giving
our
son
a
unique
name
communicates
our
values
of
inclusivity
and
celebrating
diversity,
as
we
hope
he
grows
up
to
appreciate
and
respect
people
from
all
walks
of
life.
Overall,
we
are
proud
of
the
name
we
chose
for
our
son
and
we
feel
