"Ryan's
Reflections:
Finding
Strength
in
Vulnerability"
It's
common
for
people,
especially
men,
to
feel
like
they
need
to
always
be
strong
and
keep
their
emotions
hidden.
But
as
someone
who
has
struggled
with
this
in
the
past,
I've
come
to
realize
that
vulnerability
can
actually
be
a
source
of
strength.
Growing
up,
I
was
taught
to
suppress
my
emotions
and
not
show
any
signs
of
weakness.
But
as
I
got
older,
I
realized
that
this
mentality
was
holding
me
back
from
forming
deep
connections
with
others.
I
was
so
afraid
of
being
vulnerable
that
I
never
allowed
myself
to
open
up
to
anyone.
It
wasn't
until
I
started
therapy
that
I
learned
the
importance
of
vulnerability.
By
sharing
my
struggles
and
fears
with
someone
I
trusted,
I
was
able
to
feel
a
sense
of
relief
and
begin
to
work
through
my
issues.
I
also
found
that
when
I
allowed
myself
to
be
vulnerable
with
others,
they
began
to
open
up
to
me
in
return.
This
led
to
more
meaningful
relationships
and
a
greater
sense
of
community.
Of
course,
being
vulnerable
can
be
scary.
It
means
exposing
ourselves
to
the
possibility
of
rejection
or

But
the
rewards
of
vulnerability
far
outweigh
the
risks.
By
being
honest
about
our
feelings
and
struggles,
we
allow
others
to
connect
with
us
on
a
deeper
level.
So,
to
all
the
Ryans
out
there
(and
everyone
else!),
don't
be
afraid
to
show
your
vulnerability.
It
might
feel
uncomfortable
at
first,
but
it
can
lead
to
a
newfound
sense
of
strength
and
connection.
